Bernard Lord, President and CEO of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA)
Mr. Lord, a lawyer by training, is the former premier of New Brunswick (1999 – 2006). He was one of the youngest provincial premiers ever elected in Canada. Not long after his election, there were calls for him to take over the reins of the federal Conservative Party, but he opted to remain in provincial politics. After leaving politics, he joined the law firm McCarthy Tétreault, in Montreal, until his appointment as president and CEO of CWTA in October, 2008. Howard Rheingold, Pioneering Thinker on the Future of Technology & Society
A noted author and commentator, Rheingold has a proven record of accurate technology and social forecasting, over two decades of syndicated columns, best-selling books, and pioneering online enterprises. His latest research and forthcoming book focuses on 21st century literacies -- how individuals and organizations learn to use digital media effectively and credibly. He coined the term "virtual community" in 1987. His book Smart Mobs, named one of the "Big Ideas books of 2002" by The New York Times.
